In developing this ICSC Silver award winning project concept, Architecture HQ has endeavoured to take the core fabric of the airports current and historic persona, and have utilised its current daily life activities onto an architectural concept.

The general built forms reflect vernacular Aircraft structures, which are commonly associated with the area. Dynamic forms, fresh and new Shopping Centre entry statements and the use of themed natural and high tech building materials, echo the airports heritage and traditional built forms, while also expressing the current high tech sophistication of the aircraft industry today. Therefore, our general intention is to produce an architectural language that is new, clean, fresh, hardwearing and contemporary, but to also utilise the areas historic basis for a progressive project concept.
